LE NOUVEAU SATELLITE ASTRA 1M PRET A ETRE LANCE LE 6 NOVEMBRE

SES ASTRA, une société du groupe SES (Paris:SESG) (LuxX:SESG), a annoncé aujourd’hui que son nouveau satellite, ASTRA 1M, a été complètement intégré dans le carénage du véhicule de lancement, une fusée Proton Breeze M. ASTRA 1M est donc prêt pour le lancement prévu le 6 novembre prochain (heure locale) depuis le cosmodrome de Baïkonour, au Kazakhstan. Ce satellite, construit par EADS ASTRIUM sur une plate-forme Eurostar E3000, sera lancé par International Launch Services (ILS) à 19,2 degrés Est, la position orbitale phare de SES ASTRA.

Le lancement de ASTRA 1M permettra à SES ASTRA de renforcer encore sa flotte de satellites. ASTRA 1M fournira des services de diffusion directe par satellite (DTH), notamment de la télévision en haute définition, à l’Europe continentale. La flotte de satellites ASTRA offre des services de diffusion de haute qualité à plus de 117 millions de foyers européens.
