Probleme lancement server X [was]Erreur lors mise

Bonsoir à tous

Suite aux problème rencontrés pour mettre à jour le driver nvidia à la
main, j'ai tenté une approche tel qu'expliquée

Je choisi donc d'utiliser modules-assistant. Je modifie mon sources.list
comme recommandé et le fichier de préférences. Je lance

modules-assistant auto-install nvidia

Il m'installe des tas de choses dont un nouveau noyau, bon ça sera
l'occasion de recompiler un noyau récent.
Je démarre sur ce noyau (2.6.26). Le server X ne se lance pas.

Premier problème : failed to load module "type1"

Je commente la ligne dans le xorg.conf et je redémarre
Second problème : le server X ne se lance toujours pas, mais aucun
message d'erreur cependant.

Dans l'état actuel des choses je suis passé d'un vieux noyau à ma sauce
et d'un système stable à un noyau standard dernier cri et d'un système
dont je ne peux me servir, tout ça à cause du driver nvidia (grrrr !) et
de mon inexpérience (j'avoue que je suis resté loin des machines depuis
longtemps et que je suis tout plein de poussière autour de mes neurones)

Si je pouvais lancer ce server X je recompilerai mon noyau à ma sauce,
histoire d'enlever la poussière.

La bonne nouvelle semble-t-il c'est que le driver nvidia est mis à jour
et installé.

Quelqu'un aurait une petit idée ?

Conscient du peu d'information dont je dispose et que je propose voici
le Xorg.0.log correspondant à ma tentative de connexion infructueuse.

C'est long, j'en suis désolé.

Je ne vois pas ce qui empêche le lancement du server X

Éventuellement pourriez vous m'indiquer où chercher.

Non. Je te suggérais deux choses : nous envoyer le fichier de config qui
va avec le fichier de log, et surtout d'essayer avec un fichier « qui
marche » © : tu déplaces ton fichier existant [1] puis tu mets à la
place juste ce dont tu as besoin [2] (Xorg se débrouille très bien tout
seul pour choisir les pilotes qui vont bien, à l'exception des trucs
proprios alors qu'il existe une alternative libre fonctionnelle ;) :

Bonjour,

Je ne suis pas expert dans le domaine, mais c'est un sacrée chantier ton
xorg oO
Je serais toi je désinstallerais le driver NVidia ferais une copie de
sauvegarde de mon fichier xorg.conf puis en supprimerais un.
Puis réinstallation.
Car à vue d'oeil, ce xorg.conf n'est pas un xorg.conf généré par une
installation de pilote NVidia proprio.

Salut David, bonjour la liste.

Tu as raison, je crois que je vais devoir nettoyer ça et surtout me
pencher sur la question des driver nvidia autrement que par empirisme,
merci pour le lien.

Sinon, ce matin mon système avait l'air mieux luné puisqu'en démarrant
sur mon vieux noyau j'ai eu la surprise (agréable) de le voir démarrer,
j'ai réinstallé mon ancien driver et je suis retourné à la situation du
début qui est fonctionnelle.

Donc, le mieux étant l'ennemi du bien, je vais en resté là et mettre de
l'ordre afin de suivre un protocole d'installation plus rigoureux.
