What is port 803 used for? The port itself is listening and the connection is coming from outpost.exe. Can I close this port? - 09-08-2006
You should not close this port. It is used by Outpost Network Security Client for communicating with Agnitum Command Center and also introduced in Outpost Firewall Pro due to compatibility reasons.
If you would like to close port 803 in Outpost Firewall Pro please follow the instruction:
1 Open Outpost main window - Options - Application. 2 Duoble-click OUTPOST.EXE and click Add. 3 Create the following rule: Where the protocol is TCP and where the direction is Inbound and where the local port is 803 Block it
4 Move the rule to the top of the list using Move Up button. 5 Save the changes by clicking OK.
