j'ai un dell d505 qui a ca

le module je l'ai compilé a la mano pour xfree86

mais ca marche bien sans ca avec x.org

Le module que tu recherche se nomme i830, mais sera très bientôt
remplacé par le module i915 grace à de nouvelles technologies non
présente dans les anciens pilotes (i810 et i830) et Xorg devrais tirer
profit. J'ai personnellement compilé i915 sur mon portable Toshiba (même
chipset video que toi) mais je n'ai pas utilisé les modules fournis par
le kernel. J'ai préféré le package x11-drm de Gentoo car il est beaucoup
plus à jours.

Juste en passant, lorsque viendra le temps de configurer ton xorg.conf,
tu devra mettre [Driver "i810"] dans ta section [Device] et non "i915".
Xorg ne fait pas la différence entre i810, i830 et i915 car pour lui, ce
sont tous des chipset intégré Intel (IGM). Assure toi aussi d'activer
[dri] et [glx] et désactive [GLCore], ca évitera des messages d'erreur
dans les logs même si X fonctinne.

de gcc(cf mon autre thread sur la liste).
Pourrais-tu poster ton xorg.conf ?

Je te l'enverai ce soir avec plaisir. Je tien par contre à t'avertir
qu'il s'ajit du dérivé de mon xorg.conf de mon ordinateur de table. Je
n'ai pas eu le temps de faire le ménage dedans alors ne te surprend pas
s'il y a beaucoup de lignes inutiles pour i810. Au départ, je l'ai créer
pour une carte Nvidia en mode Dual Screen

P.S. Pour ceux que ca intéresse, je peut également posté mon fichier
xorg.conf de mon ordinateur de table. J'y ai consacré énormément de
temps et pratiquement toute les fonctionalités et les modes possible du
pilote propriétaire Nvidia y figurent (sauf pour les carte très récentes)

Tel que prévu (un peu tard désolé), je poste ici mon fichier xorg.conf
pour la configuration du chipset i855GM. Comme je l'avais mentionné dans
mon dernier envois, il dérive directement de mon fichier xorg.conf pour
ma carte Nvidia. Il y a encore beaucoup de travaille à faire dessus
concernant les commentaires, résolutions, fréquences et options du
i855GM mais la base y est et fonctionnel. Bonne chance et ne te gêne pas
pour me retourné le fichier avec tes propres modifications
