Greetings,

I am trying to install win 2k server on an old Compaq Proliant ML330 using
Smart Start 5.50. This server is using 2 UltraWide2 scsi drives that are
mirrored. However, when I install the OS using Smart Smart 5.50, it is
installing it on only 1 drive and it is NOT mirrored.

Is this is the only way to install this ? and thus have to setup a software
mirror during the post install ?

Regards,
John

John,

First of all, this is a French-speaking newsgroup. You might want to submit
your problem to an English-speaking group like
microsoft.public.windows.server.setup for instance.

Before you jump to another group, my 2 cents: you should first setup your
mirror with the SmartStart CD. Once it has been set, you can boot on your
W2K CD and install it without having to care of the mirror. Since it is a
hardware RAID, the OS won't notice it at all and you certainly won't have to
set up a software mirror post installation. If you want to see and manage
your RAID configuration from within Windows, there is a tool provided by
HP/Compaq (called ACE?) that will allow you to access the RAID with almost
the same functionalities as if you were booting on the SmartStart CD.

Hope that helped,
Jacques
