I'm having issues and was hoping someone here may know of a fix. I
get a BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER fault every time I try to load or record ANY
cakewalk file that contains audio whie my US-122 is connected on USB.
What follows is a "minidump" error and my monitor screen goes 'blue'
and reboots. I stopped the rebooting so that I could see that it was
a BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER error.
I am running a Sony VAIO P4 with 1 GB of Ram and 3.06 GHz
(Hyperthreading) and 6 USB ports.
I read in some threads that HT might be the problem, but after
disabling it I still had the same issue. It must be related to the
"XP" driver I downloaded from the Tascam site. XP did not like it,
saying it was not "tested" and to ask the manufacturer for a new one.
Has anyone else had problems with the US-122 driver? Midi works fine,
it is simply the audio element that mucks up the works. I have
requested a hotfix from Microsoft (Q331988) which seems to be related
to my issue but pertains more to USB broadband connections and kernal
routing. I am waiting on Microsoft to send it to me. Tascam says to
reinstall the driver (which I've done 4-5 times) and Sony wants
nothing to do with the issue. I have a query pending at Cakewalk as
they have not yet responded to my question.
I also have looked at IRQ conflicts, which there are in fact three
devices (one being my audio card) connected to IRQ 18, but WIN XP
prevents me from changing the IRQ assignments.

Thanks Peter. I tried the Hotfix from Microsoft, but I still have the same problem. I have narrowed it down thoughn - in a way. It turns out that any audio signal not just that sent by Cakewalk Sonar 2.2, that goes through my USB, causes the BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER error and the minidump. I tried playing a file using Media Player before and after disabling Hyperthreading, disabling my internal sound card, and using the US-122 as my sole sound source - the error happened right away. So this isn't a Cakewalk issue, but a Win XP/Sony/Tascam issue.
Anyone else have information or ideas?
