carte scsi module aic7xxx au boot

Salut,

J'ai un petit soucis lors du boot. Le module aic7xxx n'arrive pas =E0 se
charger. Je vois (tr=E8s rapidement) passer un failed lors du insmod
aic7xxx mais je n'arrive pas =E0 en voir plus.
Je ne trouve pas de trace dans les fichiers de log.

Une id=E9e, de pourquoi il ne se charge pas, de pourquoi je n'ai pas la
trace d'erreur dans les log?

Dans /etc/modules laisse aic7xxx sans options.

Comme lors du boot c'est modprobe qui est utilisé c'est donc logique
que celà ne fonctionne pas...
Maintenant reste à savoir pourquoi insmod fonctionne mais pas
modprobe?

Le problème c'est que je suis passé sur des noyaux 2.6 et n'ai plus
aucun noyau en 2.4 donc c'est plus difficile d'y voir clair car il y a
pas mal de différences entre un 2.4 et un 2.6 pour tout ce qui touche
aux modules donc je te répond de mémoire et apparement elle me fait
défaut ;(

non modules.conf n'a pas été édité manuellement, je passe par
/etc/modutils/aic7xxx puis update-modules

Ok, j'y vois beaucoup plus clair et c'est ce que je cherchais à
comprendre lors de mes premieres questions.

déplace ton fichier /etc/modutils/aic7xxx ailleur et fait un
update-modules.

Laisse la ligne aic7xxx dans /etc/modules

reboote ton pc.

Si çà ne fonctionne pas, edite /etc/modules et ajoute les parametres de
l'ancien fichier /etc/modutils/aic7xxx à la ligne aic7xxx de
/etc/modules

reboote ton pc.

update-modules
aic7xxx dans /etc/modules
reboot

et... pas mieux...


voici ce que j'ai dans /etc/modutils/aic7xxx

options aic7xxx aic7xxx='pci_parity:{0,0}'
alias scsi_hostadapter aic7xxx

Ok, l'update de noyau sert donc à qqchose :)

je viens de retrouver pourquoi j'avais ajouté:

options aic7xxx aic7xxx='pci_parity:{0,0}'

c'était début juillet suite à des messages d'erreur dans mon syslog:

Jul 2 20:43:23 reveillon kernel: scsi1: PCI error Interrupt at
seqaddr = 0x9
Jul 2 20:43:23 reveillon kernel: scsi1: Data Parity Error Detected
during address or write data phase
Jul 2 20:43:23 reveillon kernel: scsi2: PCI error Interrupt at

après l'ajout de cette option ça avait disparu par depuis j'ai changé
de noyau et manifestemment le nouveau n'apprécie pas...

La commande "dmesg" devrait te donner les messages du boot pour voir le
message d'erreur de chargement du module.

Pour trouver des infos dans les fichiers de config :
# su -
# cd /etc
# find . -exec grep -i aic7xxx {} ; -print




tiens pourquoi pas:
su -
cd /etc
grep -ir aicxxx *
