CINCINNATI - An Over-the-Rhine man is facing a felony charged related to terrorism after allegedly threatening a shooting like what happened last weekend in Tucson, Arizona.
The incident happened Thursday afternoon at Cincinnati's VA Medical Center in University Heights.
According to police, William Hayward said "this is why Arizona happened", and "if you all aren't careful, Arizona is going to happen here."
The shooting rampage in Tucson last Saturday left six people dead and over a dozen wounded. Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords was shot in the head and continues to recover in the hospital. Among the dead are a 9-year-old girl and a federal judge. The suspect, Jared Loughner, 22, remains in custody.
Hayward, 50, is charged with making terroristic threats. He allegedly made the threat to officers with the VA police department as he was being cited for disorderly conduct.
