I should imagine that DRM will catch on as quickly as DAB, i.e. no-one is even the slightest bit interested. The best mode for HF is SSB. After all the years that DAB has been around, very few people have DAB receivers & those that have say the audio is worse than FM. Mike.

Maybe for you...and some hams but I remind you that the HF spectrum is first of all used by thousands civilian and military services. See the first xls files on http://www.astrosurf.com/lombry/qsl-download.htm DRM is dedicated to all these AM broadcasters and services.
The best mode for HF is SSB.
Hi,
The best surely not -see the widespread of FM - the easier to put in place certainly. At first sight and for longtime the ham community will continue using his usual modes. The objective is not to replace our modes of communications. The text states well that DRM will replace analog AM with digital AM, not USB, LSB or CW.

Tttt I like FM but I continue to appreiate SSB too I like CW but I use packet too. If you like these oldies, why are you using a high-end transceiver ? You should use the oldest one and work exclusively with a CW key.
The same objection was already formalted about echolink... see http://www.astrosurf.com/lombry/qsl-echolink3.htm
Live with your time and take advantage of the new technologies without rejecting them. In all case, the train of progress is there and will continue on iits path with, or without you. So if you are smart enough, take the train as we all do ;-)
