[long]trident et1024.768 impossible.

Bonjour

J'ai un portable Toshiba 1800 S100 avec une carte graphique trident
cyberblade Ai1. Il tournait jusqu'à maintenant avec un fb en 1024x768
avec Xfree 4.0 sous Woody Debian et un noyau recompilé pour l'occasion.

J'ai mis (presque) à jour avec un noyau 2.4.20 et Xfree 4.3 qui, d'après
tout ce que j'avais lu, prenait bien en charge ce chipset graphique.
Nib, même après avoir pompé le XF86Config-4 de Knoppix et essayé
plusieurs modelines, je n'arrive pas à avoir mieux que du 800x600 qui
une fois étiré à la taille de l'écran , produit quelque chose
d'horrible.
Choix actuel : Horrible ou invisible.

Essaye de virer tout ModeLine, XFree 4 est censé être capable de trouver
les modeline qui vont bien tout seul. Apparement ce modeline ne lui
convient pas (vrefresh out of range)

J'avais commencé par ça, et j'ai réessayé pour vérifier. J'ai des

Euh, ça sert à quoi ça ?


C'est ce qui étend l'affichage à la totalité de l'écran pour ne pas
avoir un timbre poste au milieu de l'écran. Et, du même coup rend tout
illisible :-(

Je soupçonne donc une icompatibilité des modes d'XFree 4.3 et des
caractéristiques que lui renvoie l'écran.

Désolé pour le postage croisé qui n'en était pas un car fait à 6 h
d'intervalle. Le silence qui régnait sur le groupe X11, que je ne lis
habituellement pas, m'a fait craindre une attente infinie. Complot des
juilletistes, Grève des intermittents de l'affichage ?

Bon c'est pour le fbdev, mais à priori si tu reprends juste les
paramètres pour l'écran et les modelines ça pourrait peut-être
marcher. :-)



Ça marche. Mon erreur était de trouver des ModeLines alors qu'il
suffisait de changer les caractéristiques de l'écran.
J'ai remplacé HorizSync 37-55 (dixit Knoppix) par
HorizSync 31.5-57 (dixit xf86config) et commenté la ligne VertRefresh.
