sur xubuntu 11.10, la version de Thunderbird est la 8, sur mon iMac,
j'ai la 9.
j'aimerais synchroniser leurs données.
aussi je souhaite faire l'uodate de Thunderbird sur xubuntu.
si je suis le site

qui donne :
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/thunderbird-stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install thunderbird

au "sudo apt-get update" j'ai les erreurs suivantes :
W: Impossible de récupérer

404 Not Found

E: Le téléchargement de quelques fichiers d'index a échoué, ils ont été
ignorés, ou les anciens ont été utilisés à la place.

ce qui fait qu'à "sudo apt-get install thunderbird"
j'obtiens :
thunderbird est déjà la plus récente version disponible.

comment remédier à ça ?

Faut pas. Tu dois avoir un script thunderbird, qui est un wrapper à ce
binaire avec quelques options bien senties (genre «aller chercher les
bibliothèques au bon endroit»).

dans ce script là, il est écrit qu'il faut lancer thunderbird avec un
autre script :
run-mozilla.sh

run-mozilla.sh: Cannot execute .

pourtant les perms me semblent bonnes :

~ % /home/yt/Applications/thunderbird/thunderbird
/home/yt/Applications/thunderbird/thunderbird-bin: error while loading
shared libraries: libdbus-glib-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file:
No such file or directory

Ou alors, simplement télécharger Thunderbird depuis le site mozilla, le
décompresser dans ton répertoire perso, et modifier ton lanceur.

Pourquoi faire simple quand on peut faire compliqué ?

Et /bin/sh est bien un vrai binaire, pas un script, que tu as le droit
d'exécuter ? Si c'est le cas, que dit «/bin/sh -x thunderbird» ?

même chose si je lance avec le path absolu de thunderbird :
~ % /bin/sh -x /home/yt/Applications/thunderbird/thunderbird

pourtant, j'ai bien :
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libdbus-glib-1.so.2

c'est donc un pb de PATH vers les libs soit dans thunderbird soit dans
run-mozilla.sh.
