Anyone know whether the formula"maxif" exists? Would work like sumif. I'm
sure I've seen it, but can't find it onmy version (2002)

Hi MP,

Maybe you missed the F letter in MPFE -> 'F' means French speaking
group. Most of contributors also use french version of Excel where sumif
and maxif are both absent :o)

You could :
- use MPE (no-F-inside hierarchy),
- try to explain your wish here by examples

marseillaise version of Excel have the formula "chateaudif" and those using
an auvergnate one have the formula "monboudif' ; please note too that on a
muslim version of Ecel, there is the formula "kifkif"

Hi MP,
You'd miss an important point if I didn't mention that in Morocco they use
balladintherif, that Muhammad Ali, many years ago, was known to be fond of
bourrepif, a really efficient formula, and Paris'Moulin Rouge has a strong
reputation for using viretoncalcif, this formula being very useful in many many
circonstances.

contributors on MPFE...look, MP, even French Polynesia decided to give you

Il y a quelques temps (je sais c'est approximatif) un lecteur vindicatif
nous quittait pour aller voir de l'autre côté de l'atlantique, au delà de
Cardiff (à bord d'un frêle esquif ?), prétextant l'aspect plus instructif des
participants de ce côté là.

Il ne lira pas ce fil puisqu'à l'époque il a fait un adieu définitif au MPFE.

je crains que ces messages approximatifs de la part de quelques escogriffes
nuisent une fois de plus à l'aspect qualitatif du procédé contributif : le
questionneur attentif fuira devant le côté quantitatif et peu décisif de vos
posts jouissifs.
Voila, j'espère avoir été exhaustif pour décrire l'aspect répulsif sur les
lecteurs émotifs (bon, là, j'ai pas mieux).
