Voici un extrait de la documentation Microsoft concernant WSUS 3.0 :

SQL Server 2005 (optional)
WSUS 3.0 will install Windows Internal Database for you if a compatible
version of SQL Server is not installed already. If you plan to use a full
SQL Server database, you must use (at a minimum) SQL Server 2005 SP1
(available on the Microsoft Download Center
(http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkIdf143) on Windows Server 2003, or
SQL Server 2005 SP2 (available on the Microsoft Download Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId„823) for on Windows Server 2008.
Note:

If WSUS 2.0 has been installed previously and it is using SQL Server 2000,
SQL Server Desktop Engine 2000, or any SQL Server database earlier than SQL
Server 2005 SP1 (or SQL Server 2005 SP2 on Windows Server 2008), the WSUS
3.0 installation program will install Windows® Internal Database and migrate
the database to it.

Ceci indique clairement que dans votre cas la "Windows® Internal Database "
sera installée donc pas besoin de SQL 2005.
