hi i have a problem with outlook regarding symantec anti virus , last night
someone updated the antivirus on the company server and somehow each time 2
users open their outlook they get :
the add-in "c:\program files Symantec_client_security\symantec Antivirus
"could not be installed or loaded . this problem may be resolved by using
detect and repair on the help menu . Unable to load "c:\program files <same
thing as before>" you may be out of memory, out of system resources, or
missing a .dll file .
at first i thought that the anti virus did nt installed well
i ve tryed to do the detect and repair, uninstalling the antivirus on the
client rebooting many times and each time i open outlook 2002 it gives me
that message also tryed to re-install the antivirus from the server and still
does nt work
i m kinda lost i ve looked in almost every options pannel in outlook and i
saw no place to modify or remove that path it s trying to find
, the only thing i did nt do is remove and re-install office XP but would nt
like to go that far if someone could help me i ll be really happy thx
inadvance

Ususally this means that the installation path has been modified during the update. Somewhere in options, advanced options you should find "com addins" management. Uncheck the current ***scan*** addin then use "install" button to replace the old addin by the newest version. As this could be tricky, as last resort you could try to copy the ****scan*** .dll from the new folder tree where outlook requires it.
Hope this helps.
