Tu as du oublié d'initialiser mysql, non ? La commande pour se faire est
donnée a la fin de l'emerge.

einfo "You might want to run:"
einfo ""ebuild /var/db/pkg/dev-db/${PF}/${PF}.ebuild config""
einfo "if this is a new install."

Ou simplement mysql_install_db puis les mysqladmin pour le pass du root
