I get the following error when I try to do a query accross
a linked server between SQL/Server and Oracle:
Server: Msg 7391, Level 16, State 1
The operation could not be performed because the OLE DB provider
'MSDAORA' was unable to begin a distributed transaction.
OLE DB error trace [OLE/DB Provider 'MSDAORA'
ITransactionJoin::JoinTransaction returned 0x8004d01b].

We are on a French forum but if you are working with SQL 2005, you should activate distributed transactions using the "Surface Area Configurator" before doing that. If you are working with SQL 2000, did you try to create a linked server to check if the connectivity is ok ?

We are on a French forum but if you are working with SQL 2005, you should
activate distributed transactions using the "Surface Area Configurator"
before doing that. If you are working with SQL 2000, did you try to create a
linked server to check if the connectivity is ok ?
