LINCOLN HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A Lincoln Heights woman is in custody after police said she admitted starting a fire at a residence on Monday.
Charmaine Ranford was accused of setting the fire at Marietta Terrace in Lincoln Heights.
When confronted by officers, they said Ranford claimed the fire was part of a Satanic ritual. But the woman later said that the fire was to remove Satan from the items being burned, not to worship him.
Cell Video: 'Satanic' Fire
Ranford's apartment suffered the most damage of the units in the building. Police sent Ranford for a psychological evaluation.
Ranford was arraigned and ordered held on $10,000 bond on an aggravated arson charge.
