Vist Will Not Recognize Blank CDR Disk

I have two different plextor drives (differnet models) both fairly new.
They read media fine but when I put a blank cdrom into the drive Vista never
recognizes the disk are there. There is no autoplay option available to
make the disk writeable. Anybody have the same problem.
