I downloaded some waypoints of the Stevenson trail from site:
http://www.lozere-gite.com/TopoGR70.php?Page=Menu

They are in UTM.
I import them in OZI (WGS84) and see they are off by more than 100x100
(UTM's, too far east and north)

what do I (or the producer of the waypoints) do wrong ?

Here are the files to see what is happening:

http://www.terwiel.com/diversen/CHASSERADES.map
http://www.terwiel.com/diversen/CHASSERADES.png
http://www.terwiel.com/diversen/stev_wp.txt

this is the content of my datums.dat:
RD, 3, 593, 26, 478
Datum Lisboa (Portugal), 29, -304.046, -60.576, 103.640
European 1950 (Portugal), 14, -87.987, -108.639, -121.593

I thought people who know that GPS stands for Global Positioning
System would not have any difficulty understaning english.
English is the lingua franca of the internet....
These days, about EVERY european on the net speaks and writes english,
in my experience...

Also, this way I filter out people that might be inclined to answer in
french, AND I reach people that are familiar with french maps.
Smart huh ?

(On the other hand, I should not be all too surprised by your
reaction, knowing that some french purists seem to prefer spellings
like Nouillorc, Saint Gapour and Losse-en-Gelaisse)

Hello,
In the first one, all the French people do not think as this sir. He speaks
for himself and in his name.
The map is ok, coordinates are correct. I continue has to look for
waipoints.

better than filter those who answer in french, please, don't post in a
french newsgroup, and and you don't have to filter

Some people think that being proud of your own language EXCLUDES being
proud to know/use/speak other languages.
As false dilemma really...
